About
the footnote
A footnote, in a book, is the part most people skip past. A small note in the margin. A line at the bottom of the page. Easy to miss — and yet, often, the part you'd be sorriest to have missed.
We've always been drawn to those small details. The stitch that holds a shoe together for years. The shape of a heel that quietly flatters everything you wear. The pair you pull on without thinking, that turns out to be the one you can't replace.
That's the kind of shoe we make.
a quiet idea
footnote was founded by two brothers — Sanan and Azhar — out of a simple love for shoes.
We noticed something about the market: women's footwear in Pakistan tends to live at two extremes. Mass-produced and forgettable on one end. Expensive and out of reach on the other. The middle — well-designed, well-made, considered shoes at a fair price — is mostly empty.
We started footnote to fill that space.
considered, not loud
We design for women who don't need to announce themselves. Who care for craft over logos, for quiet over noise, for things that age into themselves rather than out of fashion.
We're a new brand. We don't have a long history. What we have is care — for how a shoe looks, how it feels, and what it costs.
start somewhere
If you've found us early, thank you for noticing. We hope these become a small footnote in your story too.
